This small cylinder musical box comes in a nicely carved walnut case.
Acorns and oak leaves are raised in a central medalion.
It was made by Ami Francois Rivenc, in Geneva, Switzerland around 1875 or so.
Here, the box is open, revealing the six-tune musical movement. It has a 6" long cylinder and is on a brass bedplate. The music is activated by moving the button on the front of the case to the right.
Inside the top is a tune card that identifies the tunes that are programmed on the cylinder. The tune names are written by hand in a fine script using a quill pen.
